Van Gogh and Beyond Exhibit in Miami, Florida

August 26, 2021

The activities director from the community put together a trip to see "Van Gogh and Beyond."  It is a traveling exhibit that uses digital effects to display the works of Van Gogh.  The exhibit is located in The Ice Palace in Miami, Florida which used to be an ice house but now has been converted into an a film studio located in the Miami art district.

Keep in mind that this is a traveling exhibit so it may be in Philadephia or New York sometime soon if it hasn't been there already.

Here are some photos from my visit today.

My friend Angela and I at the entrance to the exhibit.

The exhibit has timed tickets but they let us in earlier than the time displayed on the ticket. You can spend as much time as you want viewing the exhibit.  No one rushes you out.  There is also a cafe and small gift area as you exit the exhibit.

After leaving the exhibit we headed to the Versailles restaurant nearby.  You would think it was a French restaurant but you would be incorrect.  After all you are in Miami so most of the restaurants that serve Cuban food and this was just that.....Cuban food.  The service was great and they accommodated  seating for 52 people in about 10 minutes which is no small feat.

Here is their website which includes an extensive menu.

They also have a full bakery located in an adjacent building.

This is one of many display cases of their yummy desserts.  I had cuban coffee but skipped the dessert.  I was very surprised by the taste of the coffee. It was served in an expresso cup but the first sip told me that it was all sugar with a touch of cuban coffee.  It was delicious, though, and I suggest you give it a try if you visit this restaurant.
